Connecting a custom domain

A custom domain (like yourbusiness.com) makes your site look professional and easy to remember. On a paid plan, Plixa connects your domain and sets up SSL automatically.

01Two ways to get a domain

Open Publishing & Domains and find the Custom domain panel. You can either connect a domain you already own, or register a brand-new one through Plixa. Custom domains require a paid plan.

02Add your domain

Choose "I own the domain", type it in (for example yourbusiness.com), and connect. Plixa adds it to our hosting and gives you the exact DNS records to set up next.

03Point your DNS

At your domain registrar, add the records Plixa shows you — an A record for your apex (bare) domain and a CNAME for the www subdomain. Verification and SSL then finish automatically once DNS propagates.

04Check the status

Your domain shows "Pending DNS" until the records are detected, then flips to "Verified" with SSL active. Use Re-check to refresh, or Disconnect to remove the domain anytime.

Specific record values, the DNS wait, and SSL each have their own guide below — see Connecting an existing domain, DNS propagation explained, and SSL certificate status.
